A solar eclipse releases murderous devils in the capital of Heian (794-1185 A.D.), and the only way to stop darkness from swallowing the empire is to do battle with a vengeful god in this sequel to the mystical martial arts hit Onmyoji. When evil spirits rise and begin attacking members of the nobility, powerful onmyoji Abe no Seimei (Mansai Nomura) quickly notices a disturbing pattern to the bloody crimes. Speculating that the eighth attack will break the seal of a mythical sword and plunge the empire into an apocalyptic age of darkness, Abe discovers a dark secret connecting the Imperial Court, the Izumo tribe, and a vengeful human who has sold his soul to an angry god.
